Below are paid services provided by the library. Costs vary, and patrons may be required to provide additional information for each service.

 

Copies:
Locations: Main Library, Westgate Branch, Ashford Branch

Copy services are provided at all stationary library locations. Patrons may either print from a public computer using a card or guest pass, or copy from the machines themselves. The Main and Westgate locations offer Scan-to-Email services as well.

Faxing:
Locations: Main Library, Westgate Branch, Ashford Branch

Faxing is provided for library visitors with or without a library card. Staff members will send all faxes, and patrons must come to the front desk to ask someone for faxing assistance. All outgoing faxes will be provided a cover page free-of-charge.

Notary:
Locations: Main Library, Westgate Branch, Ashford Branch

Notary services are offered for all library visitors. Appointments are not necessary. Public notaries only sign off that a particular person signs a document, we cannot verify any other details.

  • No handwritten documents. All documents must be printed.
  • All signees must be present with valid ID.
  • Documents must be unsigned before coming in.

Passports:

The Library provides services for new passport applicants, and for those in need of passport renewal, on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.

Test Proctoring:
Locations: Main Library, Westgate Branch

The Dothan Houston County Library System provides limited examination proctoring services. We accept requests for proctoring sessions on a first-come, first-served basis; we cannot fulfill requests for unscheduled/on-the-spot proctoring. Sessions are only provided Monday – Friday, and sessions must end by 5:00 pm Central Time. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your session to allow for fee payment and test setup.

All test-takers must provide/arrange to provide DHCLS the following information regarding the proctored exam they wish to take:

  • Name of institution offering the exam.
  • Name and contact information of person sending the exam.
  • Specific information regarding the requirements of the proctored exam.
    • Access passwords
    • Test duration
    • External resources (calculator, scratch paper, etc.)
    • Specific web browser if required
  • NOTE: This information must come from your institution or instructor. Instructions transmitted to DHCLS by your institution or instructor supersede any instructions they may have given to you.

Test-takers should call the scheduled library 24 hours in advance to confirm that the Library has received their test material. DHCLS is not responsible for any incorrect testing information provided by your institution. Installation of software beyond what the library provides (Firefox, Chrome, Microsoft Office) requires prior approval of DHCLS IT. We are not responsible for software incompatibilities, and cannot guarantee that technical problems will not occur when using the library’s internet and/or computers.

Please have the relevant Proctor Agreement Form filled out when you arrive.
